Jeremy is all about that too...he's trying to start a business in Minneapolis where he buys all these 3-5,000$ houses that are on the market there and slated for demo by the city, and decon them. Then use the material to build a much smaller house on the lot, and develop the remaining land as "urban farm" a bit utopian...but he's getting pretty invested in the salvage decon and cheap shitty house markets up there.
i like the idea of buying, renovating/decon/rebuild a vacation house in the unlikeliest of locales. 'what did you do over the holiday?' 'i went to my weekend house.' 'oh really? where is that?' 'detroit'
